A community hero is someone who works to bring people together and create a better world. They are often unsung and rarely get the recognition they deserve. They may be a neighbor who shovels sidewalks for the whole block, a teacher or coach who goes above and beyond for their students, a business owner who opens his/her doors to support local entrepreneurs, or a restaurant worker who donates leftover food to a homeless shelter.

They can be anyone who does something to help someone else in need — even if it’s not a huge gesture. It might be as simple as helping a stranger with directions or offering to help carry heavy things. It’s not about the title or recognition — it’s about showing altruism and compassion for others.

This year CLASS is celebrating local community heroes that show a passion for creating inclusive communities. These individuals have gone above and beyond to ensure that everyone, regardless of their race, gender, ability, or religious affiliation, can enjoy the same opportunities for engagement in our community.

Whether it’s a neighbor who helps a neighbor, a school or sports team that is there for its community, or a person who has dedicated their life to volunteering and spreading joy to those around them, every hero makes a difference. Nominate a community hero today and they could win four tickets and pregame hospitality passes to a 2025 Beaver football game, plus a Bryant high-efficiency gas furnace from First Interstate Bank!
